Snaking off the beloved Annapurna and Manaslu regions lies a Himalayan trail connecting the hidden valleys of Nar and Phu. Nar Phu Valley trek presents us with a unique opportunity to witness the lands frozen by time as little has changed over the decades. The region boasts close ties with Tibet reflected by the culture and way of life of the locals. Surrounded by several 7,000m Himalayan peaks the region boasts exquisite and unspoiled natural beauty and a virgin trail as few trekkers have managed to journey this far into the Himalayas. Accompanying the magnificence of Nar Phu Valley is the pristine TilichoLakereached through the mesmerizing views of the Himalayas through the stunning Kang La Pass (5320m).
Our Himalayan adventure begins from the Kathmandu valley touring its premium destinations before heading towards the trailhead located at Syange from where we trek to Jagat for our first night on the go. Meticulously picking our way through enchanting forests and lush green valleys, we make way to Dharapani and then to Koto from where we branch off from the Annapurna Circuit heading towards the Nar Phu Valley. The hamlet of Meta is next on our list beyond which lies Phu where we take a day off for exploration. Through countless monasteries along the way coupled with enchanting views of Pisang Peak (6,091m), we cross the valley over to Nar village. The next couple of days takes us to the heart of Manang valley through Ngawal crossing Kang La Pass (5320m) enroute, Manang, ThareGompa, and then finally onto Tilicho Lake. Heading down, the trail crosses Yak Kharka before landing at Jomsom and then onto Pokhara ending our journey. The Nar Phu Valley trek is blessed with everything you want out of a trek untouched landscapes and natural beauty, the virgin trail through vibrant and unique hamlets and the pristine Tilicho Lake which rarely needs explaining.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu|1300m
Our representatives will be on standby at Tribhuvan International Airport patiently awaiting your arrival from where you will be taken directly to your hotel. After much-needed refreshments and a short introduction session with the guides and other staffs, we wrap up our activities for the day. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Today, we take turns to tour the premium destinations in and around the valley while also simultaneously preparing for the trip. As the Nar Phu region is a restricted area special permits are required for trekking. We also find time to tour the UNESCO world heritage sites of Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath ancient religious heritages that have for generations watched over the valley. The cultural and historical beauty of Kathmandu Durbar Square is another part of this tour which makes it even more enticing. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syange|1100m and Trek to Jagat|1300m
Heading out of the valley, we take on the twisty Prithvi Highway leading west beside the sandy banks of Trishuli River. Through the pleasant hilly landscapes, the highway cuts majestic hills heading towards Syange. The final stretch of the journey takes us away from Trishuli River and towards the fast flowing Marsayangdi till we reach Syange. After a momentary rest at the town, we begin our trekking towards Jagat enjoying the stunning Hilly landscapes. Overnight stay at Jagat.

Day 04: Trek from Jagat to Dharapani|1860m
A longer stretch of the journey the trail heads to Dharapani today beginning from the stunning hilly landscape surrounding Jagat. The trail begins its descending journey heading towards the river bank beyond which it once again ascends heading to Chamje surrounded by mesmerizing views of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. The hamlet of Karte comes into view surrounded by lush green forests beyond which lies Dharapani. Overnight stay at Dharapani.

Day 05: Trek from Dharapani to Koto|2600m
Surrounded by alluring forests filled with pine and fir trees, we begin our journey towards Koto. The hamlet of Bagarchhap with its whitewashed monastery is the first of our stops as we continue towards Danakyu beyond which the trail begins its steep ascent towards Timang. Surrounded by the enchanting beauty of Mt.Manaslu (8,163m) and Peak 29 (7,181m),we continue our journey towards Koto. Overnight stay at Koto.

Day 06: Trek from Koto to Meta|3560m
Today marks our official entry into the restricted region where our permits come to use. The trail is a pleasant one heading through pine and fir forests towards the sandy banks of SotiKhola. Through the enchanting views of the Himalayas up above and lush green valleys, we continue our journey towards Dharmasala beyond which the trail begins its steep ascent to reach Meta village. Overnight stay at Meta.

Day 07: Trek from Meta to Phu|4100m
Through countless suspension bridges over fast flowing streams, we begin our journey heading towards Phu village. The journey follows the forested lands to reach Kyang. The hamlet of Kyang hosts ruined forts once captured by the Khampa people (Tibetan refugees) during their escape to India. The journey soon lands on the sandy banks of PhuKhola beyond which lies the hamlet of Phu surrounded by stunning Himalayan vistas. Overnight stay at Phu.

Day 08: Exploration Day
Our only day off for acclimatization and exploration; today, we begin our lovely tour of the hidden valley. From the stunning landscapes surrounding the region with the snowcapped Himalayas stretching towards the silvery skyline to the unique alluring culture and way of life of the locals, there is so much to see and do. We also visit the famous Lhakhang Monastery listed under 108 world's greatest monasteries. Enjoying the mesmerizing views of the Himalayas and relishing in the unique culture of the locals we spend the night back at PhuGaon. Overnight stay at Phu.

Day 09: Trek from Phu to Nar|4110m
The trail begins its descend through steep Himalayan trail gradually crossing streams over the suspension bridge until MahendraPul which takes about four hours. Crossing the 80m bridge high over the gorge of Lapche River, we continue our journey accompanied by countless Buddhists stupas and Chortens. The hamlet of Nar lies beyond the steep ascent accommodated by stunning Himalayan landscapes. Overnight stay at Nar.

Day 10: Trek from Nar to Ngawal 3660m via Kang La Pass|5322m
The journey begins with an early morning climb heading up towards Kang La Pass (5320m). Through the rugged Himalayan trail, the journey takes us right to the heart of the Himalayas and onto the snowy summit of Kang La. Surrounding us are the majestic Himalayas including the mesmerizing Annapurna Himalayan Range and countless other snowy peaks piercing the azure sky. Enjoying the enchanting landscapes we begin our way down to reach Ngawal. Overnight stay at Ngawal.

Day 11: Trek from Ngawal to Manang|3540m
Today, the journey heads towards the hamlet of Manang through an isolated Himalayan trail. From Ngawal we gradually make our way towards the isolated village of Paugh surrounded by the stunning views of the Annapurna Range. The trail begins its climb towards Mungli which overlaps with the well-known Annapurna Circuit. For the final stretch of the day, we trek in solitude accompanied by the majestic Himalayas until we reach Manang. Overnight stay at Manang.

Day 12: Trek from Manang to ThareGompa|3900m
Diverting from the custom Nar Phu valley trek, we begin our journey towards Tilicho Lake heading once again upwards through the rugged Himalayan trail. Accompanied by stunning Himalayan vistas the trail snakes through enchanting forests towards ThareGompa gradually climbing through ridgelines. Enroute, we come across several prayer wheels and monasteries reflecting the major impact of Buddhism in the region. Overnight stay at Thare Gompa.

Day 13: Trek from ThareGompa to Tilicho Base Camp|4150m
Day thirteen and our Himalayan adventure is at its ending stages. Today we head towards Tilicho Base Camp through the steeply ascending trail covered by snow. Some sections of the trail can be relatively challenging due to recurring landslides during rainy season making them difficult to navigate. Through the cluster of settlements, the trail heads to Tilicho Base Camp for the night.

Day 14: Trek from Tilicho Base Camp to Tilicho Lake|4920m
The day begins in the company of majestic Himalayas. Through the uneven rocky terrain, the train snakes upwards outlining a small path towards the lake. The crystalline lake surrounded by the Himalayas reflecting the azure sky is perhaps the most enchanting sight you will be a part of throughout the journey. The tranquil atmosphere surrounding the region makes it a perfect spot to wind down from our days of travels.

Day 15: Trek from Tilicho Lake to Kaisang/Yak Kharka|3050m
The final few days of the journey sees us descend heading away from the Himalayas starting off with our descend from Tilicho Lake to Yak Kharka. The rugged Himalayan trail gradually heads down before once again being enveloped by the lush green forests surrounding the valley. Through enchanting rural landscapes, we slowly begin our way down towards Yak Kharka which is a summer settlement made primarily of Yak Herders.

Day 16: Trek from Kaisang to Jomsom|2720m
Today we cross over to the stunning valley of Mustang via the dramatic Thorang La pass. Heading out of Yak Kharka the trail climbs onto a ridgeline before once again descending to the sandy banks of Marsayangdi River. Crossing ThorangPhedienroute, we begin our ascent of Thorang La pass (5416m) reveling in the enchanting views of the majestic Dhaulagiri Himalayan Range. The final stretch of the journey takes us to the Hindu site of Muktinath and then onto Jomsom located below. Overnight stay at Jomsom.

Day 17: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara|820m
We begin our day with an early morning flight heading out of Jomsom towards Pokhara. The city of lakes is a 30-minutes flight away from Jomsom and is often carried out in the morning to remove any weather constraints. Back at Pokhara, we head directly to the hotel for much-needed refreshments. With the activities of the day over you are free to do as you wish but as per the need excursions to the city can be arranged. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 18: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus
The final day of the journey; today, we head to Kathmandu once again through the twisty bends of Prithvi Highway. Enjoying the tranquil hilly landscape which surrounds the region, we are soon accompanied by Trishuli River on our journey. Back at Kathmandu, we head back to the hotel where a lovely farewell dinner awaits us. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Departure from Kathmandu
Our representatives will once again drop you back at Tribhuvan International Airport just in time to catch your flight back home. We hope you had a lovely time with us.
